Asci was inspired by concrete’s original liquid state and how it moves as it’s being poured. His idea was to express that liquid-induced movement in a solid form while also designing single concrete tile that could in turn generate multiple patterns for residential and commercial uses.
The result is a three-dimensional tile that evokes movement in different ways, depending on which pattern it’s used in. The dynamic form creates visual illusions based on how the light hits it with the shadows also causing extra dimension and texture. As with all KAZA Concrete tiles, the collection comes in a multitude of colors to work

The Agrarian Collection, which features eight graphic patterns, was inspired by the rich Northern California landscape of crop formations surrounding its factory. The geometric layouts can be seen from the sky or aerial photography and translate perfectly into modern tiles.
With eight patterns and three color motifs (warm, cool, and white) to choose from, the possibilities for layouts are endless. You can stick to one pattern in one color, or create a patchwork using every color if you choose. Every tile is painted by hand where they let the glaze pool as it’s applied from the tip of the bottle.

Now, clé has introduced a new series that was designed by Deborah’s own son, Luca Osburn, called Tides. Just launched at this year’s Cersaie, NUC is a new mosaic glass tile created by MUT Design that plays with your perception. Designed for Harmony by Peronda, the tile design was inspired by the principles of Gestalt psychology, much like the infamous Rubin vase/face, in that it’s just a simple square tile, but when slightly rotated, an optical illusion emerges.
NUC-tile-MUT-Harmony-Peronda-2 By shifting the square tile, the grout spaces create a feeling of movement and even begin to look like fishing nets or mesh fabric. NUC, which means ‘knot’ in Catalan, comes in three colors with four different options for grout colors. Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby created two new, indoor/outdoor tile collections for Mutina that give the user creative control to design a unique space thanks to the endless combinations the tiles afford. 28 Creative Tile Ideas For the Bath and Beyond

For millennia, humans have been mixing and baking the combination of sand, clay and water to create a flat surface to protect their feet and homes from the elements. Glazed brick dates to the 13th century BC in ancient Iran, marking the advent of humanity’s use of colored tiles to beautify our surroundings. From the Ishtar gate in ancient Mesopotamia to the groovy patterns at the bottom of a Palm Springs swimming pool, time has given us endless inspiration for incorporating tile into our interiors. Who says tile should be banished to the bathroom? 17 Bathroom Tile Ideas That Are Anything But Boring

Bathroom tile ideas - Barbara Bestor - Freshome Mid-century American bathrooms were in love with pattern and color. The 1940s saw suburbs filled with bubblegum-pink bathroom floors, mint-green countertops, and even tubs, toilets and sinks in vibrant colors. The bold bathroom trend lasted into the 1970s — and many older homes have the avocado tiles to prove it. Then, in the 1980s, we suddenly got sick of bathrooms that had something to say. Ever since then, we’ve been covering our bathrooms in safe, quiet choices such as beige, gray and plain white. A neutral bathroom isn’t all bad. But these gorgeous, graphic tile treatments make us want to kiss quiet bathrooms goodbye. A small space like a bathroom is a great place to try out bold colors and finishes that might not work in larger areas. We’ve rounded up 17 colorful bathroom tile ideas to show you how. Whether you want to plaster your bathroom with stripes and ombré or
