Their goal is to design and produce quality, handcrafted pieces that can be handed down from generation to generation and it&#8217;s clear when you take a look at what goes into making the <a href="https://www.skramfurniture.com/furniture/product/altai-side-table" data-wpel-link="external" rel="external noopener noreferrer">Altai Side Table</a>. For this month&#8217;s <a href="http://design-milk.com/column/deconstruction/" data-wpel-link="internal">Deconstruction</a>, Skram takes us behind the scenes to see how this beautiful table comes to light. Take a look.
Altai is a family of seating and tables that we launched in 2015. The defining characteristic of this body of work is what we call the leg element (others have said that they look like leg warmers or rifle barrels or any number of other things), which we manifest with a complex computer-driven carving process and a great deal of hand work. Altai was our first collection that embraced applied

It has both polished and matte finishes, creating a sharp contrast to the bucket itself. Nob-Hill-Side-Table_96075 Nob Hill is a set of stools and side tables with an intriguing hexagonal shape. A Side Table That Hides Messy Cables

                                                <a href="http://design-milk.com/side-table-hides-messy-cables/on-table-luca-nichetto-zaozuo-1/"><img src="http://2.design-milk.com/images/2016/09/ON-table-Luca-Nichetto-Zaozuo-1-600x450.jpg" alt="A Side Table That Hides Messy Cables" /></a>
Living in today&#8217;s times means we&#8217;re surrounded by cables that keep our tech devices charged and ready to go. Oftentimes, they&#8217;re a jumbled, anxiety-inducing mess that takes way too much time to untangle, if we even bother. While it may seem unavoidable, it doesn&#8217;t have to be with tables like <a href="http://nichettostudio.com/projects/on/" >On</a>. Designed by <a href="http://nichettostudio.com/" >Luca Nichetto</a> for <a href="http://zaozuo.com/" >Zaozuo</a>, the On tables have hollow bases that allow cables to be hidden away while your devices rest on top.
ON-table-Luca-Nichetto-Zaozuo-2 The plastic tables have a hole in the center where cables can be threaded through down to an extension cord or power strip, which is fed through a gap in the cork base so it can be plugged in. ON-table-Luca-Nichetto-Zaozuo-2a On is available in Lacquer Red or Porcelain White. A Trio of Tables Based on the Polyhedron

Greek mathematician Euclid of Alexandria, aka the Father of Geometry, is most known for his 13-book treatise, <em>Elements</em>, which was one of the most influential textbooks in math&#8217;s history from 300 B.C. to the late 19th century/early 20th century. In one of the books, Euclid described the solid polyhedron and how it was constructed and that is the basis for <a href="http://www.sibasahabi.com/" >Siba Sahibi&#8217;s</a> <a href="http://www.sibasahabi.com/Euclid" >Euclid</a> tables.
Euclid-Tables-Siba_Sahabi-2 The trio of dramatic metal tables feature flat polygonal faces, sharp corners, and straight edges, and are finished with a paper coating. Each of the side tables is made out of four components that consist of seven triangular elements to make up the surface and legs. Cayman-Inspired Table-Trays by Luca Nichetto

                                                <a href="http://design-milk.com/cayman-inspired-tablestrays-luca-nichetto/nichetto_zaozuo_cayman_tables-1/"><img src="http://3.design-milk.com/images/2016/08/Nichetto_Zaozuo_Cayman_Tables-1-600x338.jpg" alt="Cayman-Inspired Table-Trays by Luca Nichetto" /></a>
Today&#8217;s lifestyles require flexibility, especially in the things we choose to live with and bring into our homes. Pieces that pull double-duty or perform multiple functions is a necessity, like <a href="http://nichettostudio.com/projects/cayman/" >Cayman</a> designed by <a href="http://nichettostudio.com/" >Luca Nichetto</a> for <a href="http://zaozuo.com/" >Zaozuo</a>. Just like the hybrid, land- and water-loving reptile it&#8217;s named after, the nesting Cayman tables offer various functions for different situations.
Nichetto_Zaozuo_Cayman_Tables-2 Designed to adapt to any environment, the flexible tables can act as side tables, serving trays, cake stands, or anything else you can think of. The tables/trays reference milking stools and chopping boards, resulting in a playful design for daily life. The Carati Collection by Mario Alessiani

                                                <a href="http://design-milk.com/carati-collection-mario-alessiani/carati_72dpi_rgb_07/"><img src="http://3.design-milk.com/images/2016/01/Carati_72dpi_rgb_07-600x424.jpg" alt="The Carati Collection by Mario Alessiani" /></a>
This new furniture collection by Italian designer <a href="http://www.marioalessiani.com/" >Mario Alessiani</a> proves that you can find inspiration anywhere, even in the smallest of things like rings!
Mario-Alessiani-Carati-table Mario-Alessiani-Carati-table2 Inspired by diamond settings, Alessiani designed Carati, a collection of tables whose wood tabletops are fitted onto iron metal structures, similar to how a precious stone is fitted onto rings. The uniqueness of this design is that the plane of the table is supported horizontally by the legs of the table. In everyday tables, the design is reversed where the plane is supported vertically by the legs. Needless to say, the design of Carati (which means “carats” in Italian) is one that mimics precious jewelry: simple and elegant. Shibui: A New Line of Timeless Homewares

Shibui: A New Line of Timeless Homewares I’m really loving the homewares from newly formed houseware brand Shibui, a collaboration between designers Constantino Hoursoglou and Athanasios Babalis.
