                                If you haven’t heard of <a href="https://society6.com/?curator=designmilk" data-wpel-link="external" rel="external noopener noreferrer">Society6</a>, it’s an international community that fosters creativity and new talent by producing over 60 different products, from <a href="https://society6.com/prints?curator=designmilk" data-wpel-link="external" rel="external noopener noreferrer">art prints</a> and <a href="https://society6.com/apparel?curator=designmilk" data-wpel-link="external" rel="external noopener noreferrer">apparel</a> to <a href="https://society6.com/home-decor?curator=designmilk" data-wpel-link="external" rel="external noopener noreferrer">home decor</a> and <a href="https://society6.com/bedding?curator=designmilk" data-wpel-link="external" rel="external noopener noreferrer">textiles</a>. Artists can apply their art to any of these products, which Society6 then produces, fulfills, and compensates the artists. Last week, we shared that the brand launched six new products to create their <a href="https://society6.com/furniture?curator=designmilk" data-wpel-link="external" rel="external noopener noreferrer">furniture range</a> which includes <a href="https://society6.com/bar-stools?curator=designmilk" rel="external noopener noreferrer" data-wpel-link="external">bar stools</a>, <a href="https://society6.com/counter-stools?curator=designmilk" rel="external noopener noreferrer" data-wpel-link="external">counter stools</a>, <a href="https://society6.com/side-table?curator=designmilk" rel="external noopener noreferrer" data-wpel-link="external">side tables</a>, <a href="https://society6.com/benches?curator=designmilk" rel="external noopener noreferrer" data-wpel-link="external">benches</a>, <a href="https://society6.com/coffee-table?curator=designmilk" rel="external noopener noreferrer" data-wpel-link="external">coffee tables</a>, and <a href="https://society6.com/credenza?curator=designmilk" rel="external noopener noreferrer" data-wpel-link="external">credenzas</a>. By decorating and furnishing your home with items from Society6, you’re not only supporting and empowering artists but you’re creating a home filled with original design not easily found elsewhere – it’s an artful win-win for everyone!

Pull up a seat to the bar with these bar stools. They’re printed on vegan leather with gold or black steel legs with a foot rest. Whether your space needs a pop of color or your style is more monochromatic, these bar stools act as another vehicle for adding more art into your home. The counter stools have the same features as the bar stools, just on a smaller frame so they can be used as dining chairs or extra seating.

Beeline Design Launches New Collection Inspired by Corrugated Iron Sheds

The Australian duo create handcrafted furniture typically from sustainably sourced woods and high-end materials, but for their latest collection, they&#8217;ve chosen to experiment with corrugated metal. The <a href="https://www.beelinefurnituredesign.com.au/product-category/ridge-collection/" rel="noopener external noreferrer" data-wpel-link="external">Ridge Collection</a> pays homage to Brislin&#8217;s childhood where corrugated iron sheds were often spotted on surrounding farmland. The results are a refined collection of furniture, including beds, side tables, a coffee table, a bench, a stool, and a buffet, featuring a utilitarian material used in unexpected ways.
Soft Australian leather covers the undulating surfaces of the metal bases before being finished off with solid wood or stone tops. There’s also a variety of powder coated color options for the metal, along with several stone options for the tops. Beeline Design teamed up with Design School to style the images helping to give the pieces

Lapis Side Table by Alexander Purcell Rodrigues for Link Outdoor

Since 2017, <a href="https://www.linkoutdoor.com/" rel="noopener external noreferrer" data-wpel-link="external">Link Outdoor</a> has asked award-winning designers to create a one-of-a-kind side table for charity that worked alongside the brand&#8217;s ethos. The collection of designs, named the Jewel Tables, are now available for sale with the original ones being auctioned off to raise money for scholarships that benefit the Dallas design community. One of those tables was designed by London- and Los Angeles-based <a href="http://www.alexanderpurcellrodrigues.com/" rel="noopener external noreferrer" data-wpel-link="external">Alexander Purcell Rodrigues</a> out of reclaimed teak and powder-coated cast aluminum, resulting in the <a href="https://www.linkoutdoor.com/lapis-side-table" rel="noopener external noreferrer" data-wpel-link="external">Lapis Side Table</a>.
The sculptural outdoor side table was inspired by the cutting and setting processes of gemstones with three teak facets held together with a prong-like setting. Its aluminum legs curve up from the ground and come together before separating out to clasp the “stones” in place. The base comes in five powder-coated finishes – Bone White, Silver, Gun Metal, Bronze Patina, or Antique Bronze – with the tabletop available in

Mario Tsai’s Pig Side Table Was Inspired by the Piggy Bank

                                                <a href="https://design-milk.com/mario-tsais-pig-side-table-was-inspired-by-the-piggy-bank/pig-side-table-mario-tsai-1/" data-wpel-link="internal"><img src="https://design-milk.com/images/2018/08/Pig-side-table-Mario-Tsai-1-810x573.jpg" alt="Mario Tsai&#8217;s Pig Side Table Was Inspired by the Piggy Bank" /></a>
While on a trip to the metal market, designer <a href="http://www.mariotsai.studio/" rel="noopener external noreferrer" data-wpel-link="external">Mario Tsai&#8217;s</a> curiosity was piqued when he spotted stacks of thick aluminum tubes. He decided to purchase a 250mm diameter tube and when he stuffed his other purchases inside to carry, it reminded him of the ease of sliding a coin into a piggy bank. The <a href="http://www.mxobject.com/pig-side-table/" rel="noopener external noreferrer" data-wpel-link="external">Pig Side Table</a> was designed with all that in mind.
The side table, designed for mx object, begins with the very tube that inspired it. Four legs were added, just like on a piggy bank, along with a circular surface to become a functional side table with a story. Not only does the aluminum tube hold books and other stuff, the tabletop offers additional space for a drink or tchotchkes, all while resembling a pig, or as Tsai says, “a pig with a hat.”

Confalonieri chose four metals for the table structures with each metal paired with a particular geometric form – copper (round with smoked glass), brass (square with extra clear glass), steel (oval with sea water glass), and nickel (octagonal with bronze glass) – each with a different color of glass perfectly set on top. We’re a fan of her work which is mostly defined by clean lines, spatial forms, and geometric elements. Take a look…
The Equant Suspension Lamp is as much a work of art as it is a functional fixture. Its unique form comes from the multiple elements that make it up: the half sphere that houses an LED light, the adjustable circular deflector that helps diffuse the light when swiveled, the black metal disc that holds the deflector in place, and the incomplete circular structure that holds it all together. The initials in the S.V. Side Table stands for Solid/Void, referencing the two halves of

Nontiscordardimé is a trio of colorful tables with leaf-like patterns showing up in the graphic tabletops through a series of lines that run perpendicular to another set. One of the tables features a vase to hold flowers or plants and another has a branch rising from the leg to act as a hanger. The tables can be overlapped by threading a leg through the lines of another’s top to create a composition or they can be used on their own. Both the vase and bowl can be removed. Adelina is a series of centerpieces that play with geometric shapes and lines with contrasting black and gold finishes. The golden

With people moving from place to place, especially city dwellers, furniture needs to work in a multitude of situations. It&#8217;s easy to go out there and spend less on disposable furniture every time we move, but it&#8217;s money down the drain and more trash in our overly filled landfills. Enter <a href="https://civilspace.com/" rel="nofollow noopener external noreferrer" data-wpel-link="external">CIVIL</a>. They&#8217;re a furniture brand that&#8217;s decided to explore a different approach – modular furniture for modular people – focusing on clean lines and accessibility for today&#8217;s nomadic culture. While the CIVIL brand calls New York City home, their Scandinavian roots run deep as third generation Norwegian furniture makers. Their heritage runs throughout their designs, as well as the way they run the business, aiming to bring the best furniture possible to more people without cutting any corners.
For those of us that love modern design, you know how high the prices can be, making it quite a stretch sometimes.

The eight-piece Cuff series of seating and tables looks to the curves in indigenous wrist bangles, which led its name.
The curvy frames are constructed in stainless steel and finished with a semi-transparent custom weave that lets just enough light and air pass through. The sophisticated silhouettes rest low to the ground but are elevated slightly to give the appearance of being visually lightweight.

Dos by Diario: A Elegant Side Table with Versatility

Designed to be multifunctional, Dos is an elegant side table unveiled by Uruguay-based studio <a href="http://www.estudio-diario.com/en/" rel="nofollow noopener external noreferrer" data-wpel-link="external">Diario</a>. They&#8217;ve taken an untraditional approach by adding two circular platforms to a metal structure that resembles a sawhorse. The result is a piece of furniture with endless possibilities – place it by the sofa in the living room, next to a bed, or take it outside to be used on a balcony. It could even be used as a bar or plant holder.
Depending on the user’s preferred aesthetic, the surfaces can be made from different materials. The bottom one resembles a tray and is larger in size, while the top one is smaller and made from wood or marble.

For this month&#8217;s <a href="http://design-milk.com/column/deconstruction/" data-wpel-link="internal">Deconstruction</a>, Skram takes us behind the scenes to see how this beautiful table comes to light. Take a look.
Altai is a family of seating and tables that we launched in 2015. The defining characteristic of this body of work is what we call the leg element (others have said that they look like leg warmers or rifle barrels or any number of other things), which we manifest with a complex computer-driven carving process and a great deal of hand work. Altai was our first collection that embraced applied
