I’m in the midst of updating my home but can I just say, the paralysis from the sheer amount of options to be made is real. There’s also an overwhelming abundance of inspiration out there that I’m finding it hard to go down the path of a specific interior design style when lots of different styles appeal to me. In other words, mo’ options, mo’ problems.
The one place that doesn’t get me stressed is Society6’s blog. The site doesn’t just promote its own products but gives a ton of really good, simple design tips that really make a difference towards creating a space you love. The stories range from home makeovers to artist features. The best part is, when you’re ready to incorporate those design tips into your own home, Society6’s price points make it easy, not paralyzing, to check out your shopping cart. If you’re thinking about freshening

Into-form: Abstract Seating Inspired by the Concept of Gestalt

It’s not a sofa or a chair or a bed, but maybe a little bit of each all rolled into five modular components that can be rearranged into endless configurations for lounging. Into-form began as a project by Koa Pham and Madeleine Duflot, who were later joined by Ania Marciniak, all three of which were graduates of Central Saint Martins in 2016. The trio formed design studio ilco and perfected the sculptural design with hopes of enhancing the user’s lounge experience.
Into-form, with its five components, explores the gestalt concept where the whole form is more than the individual parts that create it. The fives shapes in five different colors are available for the user to arrange to their needs. Once the pieces are in place, the result is a functional sculpture and every time there’s a new arrangement, there’s a new gestalt. Along with the five components, the user

The Architectural Digest Design Show Celebrates GIRL POWER at MADE

The Architectural Digest Design Show Celebrates GIRL POWER at MADE

It’s Women’s National History Month, and we are so excited to see how the design world is celebrating women. One of our favorites is MADE at the Architectural Digest Design Show, where the theme for this year is GIRL POWER. MADE is a juried section at the show where emerging and returning designers showcase their handcrafted and limited edition or one-of-a-kind furnishings, accessories and fine art pieces. Here are 12 women makers that we’re especially excited about.

Alexandra Kohl designs luminous fiber art made from cotton and horsehair. As an avid equestrian and horse trainer, she shows her deep love and admiration of horses by creating unique minimalist works of art that are beautiful and textural.

Bolé Road Textiles, the brainchild of Hana Getachew, will be launching her first line of rugs at MADE, as well as showcasing her new spring collection. She creates textiles with vibrant colors and graphic patterns—which

10 Modern Products Made From Cork

It’s good enough to contain our wine and champagne thanks to it being durable and impenetrable, along with its cushion-like properties, so it makes sense that it’s growing in popularity as a go-to material. Designers continue to rethink the natural material by creating really cool products that you’d never think would come in anything other than its original form. Take a look at these 10 products that take cork to a whole new level.

Terrazzo-Inspired Products and Accessories

Over the last year, we’ve noticed terrazzo making a big comeback and what once was a composite material strictly used for floors has now spread far and wide to include products and accessories. The random patterns were typically made from pieces of chipped marble and stone suspended within a binding agent. Instead of going the traditional route, modern designers are now taking inspiration from the haphazard material and taking it in a more contemporary direction by creating terrazzo-like patterns for various wares. Take a look at some of our favorite terrazzo-inspired goods.

A Little Bit of Finland in Paris: The Koti Sleepover Experience

If like a true Scandiphile, you’ve devoured Jo Nesbø’s crime novels, watched back-to-back box sets of The Bridge, decked yourself out in head-to-toe Marimekko and made the pilgrimage to Copenhagen’s Noma, it’s time to check out the newest Nordic phenomenon – a Finnish mökki in the heart of Paris.
In Finland many people have a mökki, or a small wooden cottage, where they spend weekends and holidays, especially in the summer. Most are very basic, often without running water, and they provide a connection to nature, a slower pace of life and a focus on quality time with family and friends. Designer Linda Bergroth has captured the essence of this experience in the Koti installation comprising six wooden huts and a communal dining table inside the Institut Finlandais just around the corner from Paris’ left bank. “The Koti installation highlights the experience of a common, shared home,” Linda explains. “There are six
