We&#8217;ve spent the last couple of months celebrating <a href="http://design-milk.com/happy-150th-birthday-to-frank-lloyd-wright/" data-wpel-link="internal">the 150th anniversary of the birth</a> of iconic American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. From <a href="http://design-milk.com/how-todays-designers-are-influenced-by-frank-lloyd-wrights-principles/" data-wpel-link="internal">top designers explaining just how Frank Lloyd&#8217;s Wright&#8217;s design philosophy impacted them</a> to a tour of some of our favorite Frank Lloyd Wright sites <a href="http://design-milk.com/9-frank-lloyd-wright-buildings-worthy-of-a-road-trip/" data-wpel-link="internal">worthy of a road trip</a>, we&#8217;ve hit some of the high points of what make Wright so integral to modern design and architecture.
However, there’s no better way to get at who Wright truly was as a designer and architect than to look at the spaces he designed for himself. Taliesin, in Spring Green, Wisconsin and Taliesin West, in Scottsdale, Arizona both provide that insight. At the request of an aunt, Wright

This year marks the 150th anniversary of Frank Lloyd Wright’s birth. Everyone from <a href="http://design-milk.com/how-todays-designers-are-influenced-by-frank-lloyd-wrights-principles/" data-wpel-link="internal">designers</a> to Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation president &amp; CEO, <a href="http://design-milk.com/happy-150th-birthday-to-frank-lloyd-wright/" data-wpel-link="internal">Stuart Graff</a>, have suggested that the best way to learn about the lasting impact Wright has had is to experience a Frank Lloyd Wright site in person. Considering that Wright designed more than 1,000 structures, you&#8217;d be forgiven for feeling a little overwhelmed with the possibilities. So, together with <a href="https://goo.gl/Gg6ld6" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer external" data-wpel-link="external">The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation</a>, we&#8217;ve come up with nine Frank Lloyd Wright buildings open to the public across the United States that will make you want to see more.
Ready for an architectural road trip? Although iconic buildings like Fallingwater and the Guggenheim, should certainly be

June 8, 2017, marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of the greatest American architect, <a href="https://goo.gl/lkngPV" rel="nofollow external noopener noreferrer" data-wpel-link="external" >Frank Lloyd Wright</a>. And while 150 seems like a number that&#8217;s pretty far off into the distant past, after chatting with <a href="http://design-milk.com/happy-150th-birthday-to-frank-lloyd-wright/" data-wpel-link="internal">Foundation President Stuart Graff</a>, we were struck by how forward-thinking Wright was, and how his five key principles of design are still relevant today. Not only did he design buildings to respect (and often improve) the natural environment, but he emphasized a sense of shelter. While he was thoughtful in use of natural materials, he also fully embraced technology. He had an overarching belief that architecture, which encompassed both interior and products, should be a complete work of art and that all elements should contribute <div class="post-limited-image"><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-308133" src="http://design-milk.com/images/2017/06/frank-lloyd-wright-810x643.jpg" alt="" width="810" height="643" srcset="http://design-milk.com/images/2017/06/frank-lloyd-wright-810x643.jpg 810w, http://design-milk.com/images/2017/06/frank-lloyd-wright-800x635.jpg 800w, http://design-milk.com/images/2017/06/frank-lloyd-wright-768x610.jpg 768w, http://design-milk.com/images/2017/06/frank-lloyd-wright-500x397.jpg 500w, http://design-milk.com/images/2017/06/frank-lloyd-wright.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px" /></div>
